When you talk about computer ports there is so many to list. I will cover in my opinion the most popular and common ones. My top pick would be the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. This port now has 3 different speeds, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. The most common one is the 2.0 1 . This port allows you to attach just about anything now. You no longer need the PS2 port for your keyboard or mouse. You can even hook up your modem via USB to surf the net. The one downfall I have found to using USB is the need for drivers if the plug and play doesn't recognize what has been attached. Perfect example would be the printer. USB is the reason that many pinned serial ports are being phased out.

Unformatted text preview: With that said I will now talk about the DVI (Digital Visual Interface). This port is used to attach you monitor for video. The DVI was created to replace the VGA (Video Graphics Array) port so it could maximize the video display. Many flat screen monitors come with both types of ports along with motherboards with built in video. It is hard to say which one is the more common so I would say it is a tie. 2 The video monitor is something the USB port has been unable to take out, but I am sure it will come someday. 1 http://www.tech-faq.com/computer-port.html 2 http://www.tech-faq.com/dvi.html...
