The world of computers is always changing and so is the types of storage. When it comes to hard drives the newest technology is the solid state drive. Their capacity range from 8GB up to 2TB, also with the newness of this technology it also very pricey. The smallest drive can cost $45 and the high capacity can be $3,750. Because they are solid state drives and do not rely on platters to scan the read/write is considerably faster (range from 260-800MB/s). 1 So unless you are have deep pockets the next hard drive to choose would be the SATA drive. The price on these drives are a lot easier on the tight budget people. The range from $20 to $200 depending on size, model, and name brand.
