Midterm 1 There are three problems, worth 33 points each. You must justify your answer to receive full credit. 1. Two planets of mass m and 2 m have the same radius R . They start at rest with their centers a distance r i apart ( r i > 2 R ). The gravitational attraction between the planets then brings them together, and they collide.
