INTERACTION PLOT IN EXCEL: First you need to calculate your group means and standard errors (SE) for each treatment. So you'll have 4 means and 4 SE's: strain1/food, strain1/nofood, strain2/food, strain2/nofood. Set up a table in Excel that looks like this: Food No Food Strain 1 mean 3.5 1 Strain 2 mean 5 1.5 Strain 1 SE 0.5 0.1 Strain 2 SE 1.5 0.2 The top 4 values are your means and the bottom 4 are your SE's. Click on the Chart Wizard and select "Line" and choose the icon with 2 lines and points marked (it will say "line with marker values displayed at each data value" in the box below.) Click next. Now select your data range; highlight the following from your table: Strain 1 3.5 1 Strain 2 5 1.5 You should see an example chart with two lines pop up with your means as the endpoints. At the top of the popup box, you should see two little tabs "Range" and "Series." Click on "Series." Near the bottom, there is a place to specify "Category (x) axis labels."
