CIS206BO Laura Malave 2.0 Using Linux Navigating the File System Objectives File Management Navigating the file system Results As far as results there was just a video to watch. I clicked on the lab and the media loaded. Conclusion This conclusion is based off of the video from 2.2.2 Navigating the File System. The video was taking you through how to navigate through the file system by teaching you the “ls” command and the sub commands after is. Those commands are the long list command “ls -l” and the command to show hidden files which is “ls -a”. If you want a file to be hidden you must put a “.” before it. This makes the file hidden. To navigate back to your home directory you can just use the “cd” and then press enter. This takes you back to it. Find the Working Directory Objectives Find the Working Directory Results Loaded the lab then launched the simulator. In the simulator I answered the question to find the current working directory. I typed in “pwd” and it gave me the current working directory of /home/wadams. sh-2.05b#pwd /home/wadams sh-2.05b# Conclusion The simulator wanted you to find what the current working directory was. After you launched the lab it came up with a simulated Linux screen. There you typed in the command “pwd” and it showed you the current working directory. Find a Hidden File Objectives Find the Hidden File Results Loaded the lab then launched the simulator. In the simulator I answered the question “What is the name of the hidden file in the /etc directoy? The answer was “.pwd.lock”. To find this I did the following commands from the root menu.
