Guidelines for Book Review 1. What type of book is this? What subject (s) is (are) covered by the author about? 2. Give a brief biographical sketch of the author (list significant awards). Mention other books, and author’s contribution to the genre of writing. 3. . What does the Introduction of the book state that this book is about? Does the book accomplish what the author, or editor sets out to show? 4. What is the overall thesis of the book? (What has the author (s) set out to show?). Give a synopsis of the book, note significant passages that touched you / angered you, rang true for you / strained credibility. Was anything shocking? 5. Is the book thought provoking? What are some of the thoughts that came to your mind
