Some of the security concerns that he might face in setting up a web presence for his business could be: Hackers—people who use the Internet to break into other sites and obtain or secure information for their own personal financial gain. Cyber terrorists—these are people who use the internet to target critical infrastructure and use their attacks as force multipliers. Worms/viruses—these are programs that will attach themselves or embed themselves into systems, and remit the information back to another system that was created to gather and store private information in regard to customers. Security The most obvious risk for any online merchant is security. All online merchants are responsible for handling and using their customers’ personal information in a safe and secure manner. This means that investing in multiple layers of security. Information must be encrypted throughout the transaction, secure socket layers are needed to effectively ensure that the information is only sent to parties that are authorized to collect the information, and the Kerberos protocol and
