What is an attitude? An attitude is a lasting , general evaluation (good or bad) of a target (self, other, object, event) Attitudes are associated with affective information (feelings), cognitive information (beliefs or knowledge), behavioral information (our own or others’ behavior) Attitudes can vary in their strength how enduring, resistant to change, or predictive of behavior they are Negative attitudes are in general stronger than positive attitudes
