The author starts off the reading by saying that Wisconsins weather and climate are easily the most important natural characteristics to its life and land. Throughout the reading, the author is very persuasive and direct about the significance of the impact weather and climate have on the state of Wisconsin. The reading is set up as an explanation of the different conditions and how they adversely affect other aspects of society. For in- stance, Brinkman discussing severe weather such as hailstorms, tornadoes, and drought. Following the time of year these occur, he discusses the impact these weather conditions have on agriculture. Agriculture is a big part of Wisconsins income and prosperity as a state, so the weather that impacts it is definitely something important to discuss....
