Choose a product with which you are familiar, preferably one in your industry, and explain how it might berepositioned. Indicate its current position in the market, a desired position, and how you would manage the repositioning effort. Greetings Class, As I read chapter 9 of our textbook I discovered that positioning is the act of designing a company’s offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the minds of the target market. The goal is to locate the brand in the minds of consumers to maximize the potential benefit to the firm. Know from my understanding of positioning, one would assume that repositioning would be the same. The only difference would be to take a current product on the market and go back to the drawing board, from a marketing perspective. I am not sure if you’re referring to the simulation or what we currently do. Currently, as far as my profession I am not into placing products on the market and neither is my organization.
