Humanities Time Line The following is a selective listing of some major figures and works of the  Humanities  (right column) and their relation to  important events in  History  (Center Column)  c = approximately First Column: Century Second Column: Events in History Third Column: Humanities Giants (write your entries here) Before the Common Era (BCE) =  Before Christ (BC) Common Era (C.E.)  Or Anno Domini* (A.D. )   * Latin for "Year of the Lord" c. Mythology –  No Date  Apollo Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of  light and the sun, truth and prophecy, medicine,  healing, plague, music, poetry, arts, archery and  more. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto. c. Mythology –  No Date Dyonysis The god of the grape harvest, winemaking and  wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek  mythology.
