Unformatted text preview: Unit 7 Process Simulation Models Models in This Unit: The Waiting Line Simulation Model The Production Line Simulation Model The Kanban Simulation Model The Constraint Management Simulation Model Unit 7 provides four process simulation models. Process simulation models are capable of showing a functioning system over time and allow users to watch as the system functions. Parameters that affect system performance can be changed, and the results can be monitored and measured. The first model in this unit, the Waiting Line Simulation Model, provides a queuing simulation with flexibil- ity for the user to modify the number of servers, the number of phases, the arrival rate, and the service rate. The remaining four models offer various modifications of production line simu- lations. The Production Line Simulation Model is a general-purpose simulation for examining production line dynamics and the effects of process time variability and disruptions. The Kanban Simulation Model provides a typical Kanban system with the flexibility to change Kanban policies and experiment with varying levels of process variability. The final simulation, the Constraint Management Simulation Model, expands the production line simulation model to allow the user to incorporate buffers to protect a constraint from upstream disruptions. 67 ...

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
