英语专业课程教学大纲 2 一、前言 《西方宗教与文化》是英语专业三年级学生的专业选修课程。该课程重点介绍欧美文化传统、 宗教、艺术的基本状况和主要成就,以及这些成就对人类社会进步产生的深远影响。通过这门课程 的学习加深学生对西方宗教和文化传统的深层次理解,拓展学生的知识视野,完善知识结构,提高 跨文化交际能力。 二、课程教学目的和基本要求 本课程以西方宗教、文化为纲,多方面系统地概括和介绍西方社会宗教及文化方面的发展的主 要阶段及成就。通过该课程的学习,学生对欧美文化传统、宗教、艺术的基本状况一定的了解,对 西方文化宗教的精髓和主要成就有一个总体的把握,从而能从广义的文化哲学层面去审视西方文 明,提高学生对中西文化差异的敏感性、海纳百川的文化兼容性以及处理文化差异的灵活性。 三、课程主要教学内容及学时分配 本课程安排在专业学习的第 7 个学期开设,周 2 学时,18 周,总课时 36 学时。该课程使用教 材:王佐良等:《欧洲文化入门》,外语教学与研究出版社,1992。
