Homework 2 PART I: From this flask of organism(s) one would first culture a sample of it on an agar plate to yield isolated colonies. Then from each individual colony one would cultivate that species in a liquid media. After large scale cultivation of the individual species and ensuring one has a good supply of genetic material, one would harvest the cells, undergo DNA extraction and sequence it. From that DNA one would create (or find) a genomic sequencing library with which to compare sequences of DNA from my organism(s) to. From this information one could then analyze the genetic material of the organism(s). PART II: Read A: Gene(s) encoded B: Organism from which sequence was derived.
