Warm 150 mL of DI water on a hot plate. 2. Completely dissolve 0.5g of your impure unknown in a 50 mL Erlenmeyer flask by slowly adding hot DI water 5 mL at a time and swirling. Do not exceed 25 mL of DI water and try to use as little solvent as possible. 3. Cool down the solution from boiling temperature and add 6 charcoal pellets and 6 boiling chips.
