were provided that the mystery components would be comprised of an inductor in series with a resistor or a capacitor in parallel with a resistor. With the help of Oscilloscope, Function generator, Digital multi-meter (DMM) and an external resistor, a test circuit was setup to measure the capacitance and resistance of a known capacitor in parallel with a known resistor, and the inductance and resistance of a known inductor in series with a known resistor. This test circuit was then used to find out what component was originally inside the two mystery boxes. The values of the known resistors, the capacitor and the inductor found from the DMM and the test circuit was consistent with the known value with an accuracy of 10%. The
