Pizza USA Abstract Eating out in restaurants and the purchasing of take-out and delivery meals is an essential part of the American lifestyle. The convenience and value offered by the restaurant industry makes management of consumers’ day to day living easier. Research by the National Restaurant Association indicates that consumers, although worried about the economy, intend to continue their patronage of restaurants. It is expected that quick service, take out and delivery style restaurants will benefit at the expense of upscale and casual dining. The US pizza market is a mature, developed market and highly competitive. It is estimated that there are around 150 well known pizza franchises in operation and an unknown number of local and regional pizza franchises. (3) This paper explores whether or not Pizza USA should venture into the development of a pizza delivery process, which will expand its business into a new market, or maintain its current features as a dine-in and take-out only restaurant. Pizza USA Introduction Pizza USA is a chain of pizza restaurants that currently offers sit-down and take-out services. They are confronted with the task of designing ways and processes that will address customer demands of a delivery service. To be able to focus on customer needs and to translate those needs into a tangible service, Pizza USA must develop a consistent and cost-effective pizza delivery service that will take advantage of a potential increase in pizza sales. Pizza USA delivery service that will build and increase customer loyalty. They have to take a step backwards and look at the situation from the perspective of the customer, what are their needs and desires. Pizza USA then has to mold those needs and wants into a successful delivery process that reaches out to the customer in a positive manner. Analysis Pizza USA is currently going strong with a customer basis who enjoy their sit-down and take-out service. They know they have a product that is sellable. Customers enjoy the quality of their food, and continue to come back for more.
