CASE INCIDENTS 2Case Incident 1: “The Calamities of Consensus, “Chapter 9, P. 316.Questions 9-28. Yes, a consensus is a good way for groups to make decisions. Basically, a consensus entails an agreement that is both collaborative and inclusive. The main reason why consensus is agood way for groups to make decisions is that it allows every member of the group to collaborateand be part of the decision being made. In order for an agreement to be reached, every individualhas to corporate and trust the members of his or her group for a common decision to be made. Another reason why consensus is a good way for group decision-making is that it enables all the group members to create a mutual understanding amongst them.What is more, the consensus is good for group decision making because it increases commitment while creating a sense of ownership. From the video, The Audiopedia (2017) arguesthat it is only by engaging every member of the group that a group can ensure improved commitment and make its members feel that their opinions and views are essential to sound decision making. From the findings of Doberstein (2016), members of a group become more committed and involved in their groups when they have a chance to come up with their projects, goals, and action plans.
