1. In the central role of strategic planning, only a handful of companies stand out as master marketers—Procter & Gamble, Southwest Airlines, Nike, Disney, Nordstrom, Wal-Mart, and McDonald's to name a few. These companies have achieved competitive advantage based on product/ service differentiation, cost differentiation or niche differentiation strategies. From a consumer's perspective why do you think they stand out? Explain When it is about the strategic planning only few are the companies which are the market masters and these companies have achieved competitive advantage based on product/ service differentiation, cost differentiation or niche differentiation strategies. By taking an account with consumer’s perspective these companies has adopt many differentiation strategies which make them stand out from the rest. The companies don’t have magic of success infect the strategies lead their way and make them stand out from the rest. The top organizations put their full efforts and continuous improvement and commitments to achieve excellence: the most successful part of their achievement is that these organizations share their commitments and values with the employees, as they perceive their customer is a King, also share the same beliefs and values with their employees because they believe that everything is possible with the work force. Such organizations ultimately give the best value to their customer by implementing the latest techniques, innovations, social and economic trends as well as the differentiations in their services and products according to the customer requirements. Successful organizations focus on the customers and they manage to respond their customers effectively with the changing needs and at customer desires. Furthermore standing out organizations brings the steadiness in their communications and make them clear for their customers and even their suppliers, vendors, employees and all in the stakeholders. Organizations attract the customers by: - The Cost Leadership Strategy: with the customer perspective the customer is only focused with low cost deliverables with high quality. So when customers achieve the both, it makes him satisfied. - The Differentiation Strategy: customers want a variety in products and services and with high-quality need. So when customer get variety differentiated from others at the reasonable prices, customer surely give preferences to such products and services which ultimately make the organizations stand out from the rest. 2. External Environment (Macro-Environmental Forces) affects the organization internal environment and organization processes. Discuss the impact of environmental forces on organizations; explain with the help of examples whenever possible. Also, point out opportunities, if any, presented by these regulations.
