Editing is process of altering the contents of an existing document. Editing occurs when something is inserted, deleted, or modified within a document. Editing features allow users to make changes until they are satisfied with the content. Perhaps the most valued editing feature is a spell checker, which matches each word in a document to a word list or dictionary.
