First, we make a company overview of Nike. Nike was built up by Bill Bowerman which is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon now. Nike is the world’s leading sporting goods manufacturer. There are also many subsidiaries. Hurley International LLC is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California. Converse Inc is headquartered in North Andover, Massachusetts. Nike Golf is also headquartered in Beaverton ,   Oregon, which is the same as headquarters. Umbro Ltd is headquartered in Manchester, England. And the last one Cole Haan is headquartered in Yarmouth, Maine, and its design center in New York city, New York. ( www.nike.com ) The company is very large and famous, which is one of the world’s top 500. The company’s operating income reached a record 49.8 billion U.S dollars. You may ask who are the top managers of Nike. At present the CEO is Mark Parker and the CFO is Don Blair. ( www.nike.com ) Of course, Nike has its own mission and vision statement. Its mission statement is “Innovate for a better world”, and Nike’s vision statement is “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world.” And the Ipod company is the strategic alliances of Nike. In 2003, Nike acquires once-bankrupt rival converse for $305 million on July 9. ( www.nike.com ) Now, let’s go on into next part—the Market analysis for the company. Bill Bowerman said “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world if you have a body, you are an athlete.” Nike covers many different areas of manufacturing. Here are some examples. It covers Footwear manufacturing, Men’s and boy’s cut and sew apparel manufacturing, Women’s and girl’s cut and sew apparel manufacturing, and Sporting and Athletic Goods manufacturing.
