1. "The Polls": Polarized Opinion in the States: Partisan Differences in Approval Ratings of Governors, Senators, and George W. Bush Gary C. Jacobson Presidential Studies Quarterly , Vol. 36, No. 4 (Dec., 2006), pp. 732-757 Published by: Blackwell Publishing on behalf of the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress Article Stable URL: http://www.jstor.org/stable/27552265 As the title indicates this article shows the approval ratings of Governors, Senators, and President Bush from data collected between 2005-2006. I will use this article to show the contrasts and polarization that has taken place between both democrats and republicans since the re-election of Bush in 2004. It gives very good insight to how voters have viewed the members of their government, whom voted into office. It also shows a clear and present polarization stance that occurred in the state around this time. 2.
