Financial Times Germany’s unhappy abstention from leadership March 29, 2011 Germany has locked a non-permanent position in the U.N. Foreign Security Council and feels as though they are ready to handle the international responsibility. However, this article discusses the fact that maybe the world can‘t rely on Germany when it really counts. There is somewhat of a convincing argument that Germany holds its economic matters higher than any other matter they are involved in. If one really thinks about it that makes perfect sense because Germanys major playing card in the EU is not military or even technology but their advantage lies in the form of being economically rich, and they want to maintain that power and prestige they obtain from being so wealthy....
