INTP 3/14/12 ** Got paper 2 handout. Due Monday, April 2, 2012 Attitude Similarity - Research suggests when you meet someone and interact with them and discover that you are similar promotes liking and attraction. - Cognitive consistency; share the same view on an issue and “easier” to manage. - Social Validation/reinforcement; for things that are factual (ex. math problem 2 plus 5 = 7) everyone knows that, when it comes to matters of attitudes we don’t really know what’s right or wrong. A lot less certainty, we look to our environment for validation or support on our view. Don’t really need validation in the factual world; we do need it when we all have different attitudes. See it as a social reward. - Ex. predict a friends attitudes on different topics, we will predict them to have more similar attitudes to us than they really do. If we asked them they would not feel as strong about it as we said they would. - Byrne; attitude similarity is linked to liking and attraction. Known as the Byrne effect.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
