Bus 101 Jiyu Song Robert Rollins 8/23/11 Assignment 1 From my perspective, Student C has the strongest paper, followed by Student B, and Student A has the weakest paper. For Student A, the point that not to accept SEC’s inquiry is totally inappropriate. As a CFO of a corporation, one should not only consider benefits of the corporation, but also business regulations and ethics. What is more, as a corporation in market, there will be a number of existing competitors and potential competitors who are trying to enter the market. A corporation can take tons of measures to keep its own customers such as differentiated products and better service, but not discarding mortality. Hiding high gross margin of product B to customers is not critical. However, Student A does not explain that Product B is the outgrowth of Product A, which is a decent reason for not reporting separate segments. As a result, Student A has the weakest paper. For Student B, he advocate the idea that the corporation must comply with the SEC
