ACC 333 (Farrell) Class 17 Fall 2011 Page 1 of 4 Case Assignment – Colonial Broadcasting Company Case background and assignment Barbara Warrington is trying to understand what factors are associated with ratings for TV movies broadcast on her network so she can make better programming decisions. She has decided to use regression analysis to investigate whether her instincts about what influences ratings are valid. You have been hired by Warrington to help her interpret the output of six regression analyses. For each analysis, the dependent variable is “Ratings”. Questions Using the regression output provided here, answer the following questions from Pages 8 and 9 of the Colonial Broadcasting case (if a question is not listed here, you do not need to answer it). All responses must be supported with references to particular information in the regression output, computations based on information in the regression output, and/or hypothesis tests. Questions 1a and 1b (use Regression Number 1). Questions 2a, 2b, and 3 (use Regression Number 2). Questions 5 and 6a (use Regression Number 5). Questions 7a and 7b (use Regression Numbers 4, 5, and 6). o Note that the difference between Regression Number 5 and Regression Number 6 is that “Competition” is included as an independent variable in Regression 5 but not in Regression 6. o
