The mother of a 6-month-old infant calls the office requesting an appointment for her child. She advises that she thinks the child’s head appears swollen and that there are areas that appear to be bulging. What is your response regarding the appointment. When screening this mother’s phone call I would fist ask some questions, to try and find out if there is a reason for the infants head to be swollen. I would ask. Has the patient fallen recently? Does the child appear to be in pain? Is the child currently taking any medication? I would then schedule the patient an appointment with their primary care giver. I would schedule the appointment at the mothers convince. Given the symptoms and signs the patient’s mother has stated I would suggest that the patient may have Robinow Syndrome (Frazier &
