Unformatted text preview: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the use of databases in the organization of my choice, which is Aon Hewitt. This paper will include there three major factors: what a database is, the different types of databases, and how they are used. Information about new and enhanced database security capabilities introduced in Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, from a current article. The last factor, the type of database used at Aon Hewitt and what they are used for. First, according to our textbook, a database management system (DBMS) is a set of programs that provide users with tools to add, delete, access, and analyze data stored in one location. An organization can access the data by using query and reporting tools that are part of the DBMS or by using application programs specifically written to access the data (Rainer Jr & Cegielski, 2011, "Chapter 4: Data and Knowledge Management"). There are different types pf database applications that an organization or individual can use, Microsoft Access, IBMs DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, Lotus, FileMaker Pro, FoxPro and Paradox are some popular desktop database software.
