1 Dr. Allen WRI 1100 20 April 2010 Abusive relationships affect the children involved. Many may agree that a child raised in a stable family setting is better off than one that is raised in an abusive surrounding. Statistics and studies show that the child from the stable family grows up and starts his own stable family while on the other hand divorce rates are high for people who carry abusive emotional baggage from their childhood. Regardless of whether children are physically abused, the emotional effects of witnessing domestic violence are very similar to the psychological trauma of being a victim of child abuse. Life can be so detrimental, if a home is unstable. Both husband and wife must be contributing factors to a family. To be able to live in a stable environment there should first be trust between the husband and wife.
