A guilty plea was entered by a former chief executive Jeffery Greenstein; he was the co founder of Quellos Group, a well known investment firm in located in Seattle, Washington. The charges were in regards to sketchy tax shelters that the investment firm sold to rich investors. Quellos primary business was purchased by a global investment firm, BlackRock the company paid $1.7 billion dollars for the business in 2007. Quellos had a large client base that primarily included stars and famous people, some included former president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton, Robert Johnson IV , the owner of the New York Jets; and the Hollywood producer and icon Haim Sabin. Mr. Greenstein, then forty eight years old was charged with of conspiracy and aiding in the filing the false tax return in connection with a tax shelter called Point. He admitted that he cheated the Internal Revenue Service out of roughly two hundred and forty million dollars in taxes from the sales of the tax shelters between 1999 and the middle of 2006.
