AC09201 Importance of Knowing the Nature of Communication Communication as defined is the transactional process through which people create and manage their relationships, exercising mutual responsibility in creating meaning. It is very important in our lives for it builds relationship to people like bringing them closer, it saves time in any formal set up, it breaks the barrier between individuals or groups, it leads to common understanding of any idea or thought, it adds to the knowledge base by acquiring new information, it removes many misunderstanding and misconceptions, it can act as a means of entertainment (through audiovisual means), it can influence the actions of people and it can change the attitude of people. Knowing the nature of communication is also important for us to have a better understanding about it and be able to use it in a right way.
