The Importance of the IT Culture IT Culture is basically broken down into two catergories, the first is the structuring of the IT function. According to Cummings & Haag (2007), IT culture refers to how the IT function is placed structurally within an organization’s philosophical approach to the development, deployment, and use of IT (p.48-49). Organizations would definitely fall by the wayside, if they did not have use if IT systems to help them communicate within their particular organization. The importance of IT culture in today’s organizational society is how information is used to help and make changes on how a particular job is performed, how the knowledge gained from IT culture is used, and by using this tool you can easily calculate the cost of doing business.
