Wk2 D2 Political Economy Readings Read the following chapters in Exploring Social Change : a. Chapter 4: American Social Trends b. Chapter 5: Change in the Settings of Everyday Life: Populations, Families, and Work c. Chapter 6: Economics, Politics, and the American Prospect If you could choose between what we called the Anglo-American political economy and the continental European model of political economy, which would you prefer? Unformatted text preview: European model of political economy. As much as it might be nice to have a state economy that takes care of the individuals who are not in the work force. I would prefer to be able to have the chance to move up into better positions and better opportunities for my family. The Anglo-American model would allow that to happen faster than the European model because of the availability of jobs. As employment opportunities occur then would result in not requiring services from the government.
