N-Pointed Stars We are all familiar with a pentagram, a five pointed star. This star is made by five equal length lines where each is attached to the previous one and rotated through an angle of (2x360)/5 = 144 degrees. The fifth side connects to the initial point of the first line. The lines rotate around two complete circles. This is one of the 5-pointed stars. Another 5-pointed star is the one where the lines rotate around just one circle. Each line turns 72 degrees. This star is a pentagon and is not very pointed. What about the other n-stars? All of the 2-stars are just a straight line. All of the 3-stars are an equilateral triangle. The 4-star with one circle is a square. The 4-star with two circles is a straight line because all four lines are on top of one another. From there we continue to alternate between a square and a straight line.
