Together with the other 60 foreign branches all over the world, Oriflame Vietnam contributes a considerable portion to the growth of the company, to which Human Resource Management is critically attached. On analyzing the three important steps of HRM process (recruitment, selection, orientation), the research points out some existing problems and suggests the corresponding solutions so that the company can effectively mitigate weaknesses, seize opportunities and avoid potential threats. The first main problem for Oriflame at the moment is the unqualified sales force resulting from the no-limitation recruiting and selecting method. To address the issue, the company should invest in later employee training programmes where new consultants are taught necessary skills to perform successfully on the job. Paying attention to the newcomers initial period of time they become members of the organization and offering timely support is the second issue that Oriflame has to do. The current one-on-one orientation method has shown some drawbacks since some distributors on the front-line who are just regarded as seniors with little more experience cannot deal with their down-lines problems. These staff should be given chances to work with the company leaders whose advice is very precious and useful for any situation. Furthermore, it is advisable formal orientation programmes be held in order that the newcomers knowledge about the companys goals, history, culture and rules are fully understood. Thanks to that, the companys culture is strengthened; business core values are intensely held and widely shared. The third issue that needs to be taken on account is encouraging innovation and technology in consultants by giving them tools to build an online recruiting and selling system. Internets outstanding advantage is its ability to transfer of information widely and quickly; Oriflames products, thus, can approach customers more easily. More and more people will be attracted to the firm as well. Last but not least, cosmetic industry is considered a relatively fierce market where Oriflame has to compete with various beauty brands. To make the matter worse, despite the increasing popularity of direct selling firms nowadays, the entire industry has been tarnished with a bad reputation due to some recent scams associated with multi-level marketing. In this situation, taking part in an association that has prestige in the community like Vietnam Multilevel Marketing Association can create an advantage for Oriflame future development....
