Discussion: The purpose of this experiment was to determine what effects concentration and temperature have on the rate of a decomposition of a catalyzed hydrogen peroxide solution. I - 2 H 2 O 2 (l) 2 H 2 O (l) + O 2 (g) Ag = + I - AgI (s) In part one of the experiment the goal was to determine the rate law for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide by doing three trials with different concentrations of H 2 O 2 and the catalyst KI. This value able was calculated by measuring the rate of O 2 (g) produced as a function of H 2 O 2 and I - concentration and then plotting the volume of O 2 (g) produced as a function of time. In each trial the volume in mL was recorded in 2mL intervals up to 14mL and the time in seconds corresponding to the 2mL intervals were recorded. The rate at which the O 2 (g) was produced (mL/s) equals the slope of the line on the graphs made for each solution, which also equals the rate at which H 2 O 2 decomposes. When the concentration of either H 2 O 2 of KI was increased the rate of reaction also
