Unformatted text preview: Korean Civilization (Winter 2012) Essay Assignment Select ONE film and write an essay of 2-3 double-spaced pages addressing the relevant prompt below. The films are available via Video Furnace on our class website or in the Instructional Media Lab (ideal for small-group viewing). Be sure to discuss specific scenes and lines from the film to support your analysis. Keep in mind that these films are period films that are only loosely based around historical events. Please refer to the grading rubric to see the criteria by which your essay will be graded. Your essay must be uploaded to TurnItIn (via my.ucla.edu) by Friday, March 2, 5:00 pm deadline (late essays will be penalized 5 points per day). TurnItIn compares your submission against other papers as well as the Internet. You can consult websites for names of characters and other facts, but plagiarism is strictly forbidden and quotes about the film from reviews should not be included in your essay.
