ENG 2300 Analytical Writing #1: Formal Analysis Critical Dates: Peer Review Workshop and Rough Draft Due : M 10/17 *Bring 3 typed and finished copies of your rough draft to class: One copy for me / Two copies for peers in your group. Final Draft Due: M 10/31 *Bring 1 typed copy to class along with all previous work on the paper and peer’s analysis. Assignment Format Standard 81/2”x11” white paper with 1” margins on all sides Double spaced Typed in black ink, Times New Roman, size 12 font The title of the report should be something more interesting than “Mise-en-Scene, Cinematography, and Editing in The 40 Year Old Virgin. Page numbers with your last name in the upper right-hand corner of all subsequent pages Stapled in upper left-hand corner Assignment Description and Specifications 5-7 pages in length (this means at least 5 FULL pages, not including works cited page or plot segmentation) Must include at least 2 direct quotations from outside sources (your Film Art and/or SCHOLARLY book or article) that are correctly cited and directly support your thesis Works cited page with correct MLA style citations (text and film)
