1. Briefly explain the GRFs obtained in each of the three dimensions for walking. Be explicit in stating what each graph represents. Vertical GRF: Fz: Body weight Medial GRF: Fx: This means that when the graph is positive the force is medial and when the graph is negative the force is lateral. Anterior-Posterior GRF: Fy: When the graph is positive the force is forward, and when it is negative it is backward. 2. By looking at your running GRF graph would you say that you are a rear-foot striker or a mid-foot striker? Explain. Based on my graph, I think that I am a mid-foot striker. I have a small impact peak, and an increased amplitude at midstance. At midstance the ground reaction force is significantly above my body weight (over twice as much), and the impact peak has an amplitude of only about 100 Newtons, which is relatively insignificant compared to the rest of the graph. 3.
