INSTRUCTIONS (read carefully) There are 7 problems, on pages numbered 1 through 7. Make sure you have a complete exam. The point value of each problem is indicated next to the problem, and in the table on the cover page. You have two hours to finish the exam, but we believe most of you will not require more than 1.5 hours. Points may be deducted for solutions which are correct but hard to read, hard to under- stand, poorly explained, or excessively complicated. Brief explanations and/or showing work, even when not formally required, may increase partial credit for buggy answers. Except where explicitly indicated, it isn’t necessary to simplify or calculate out complex constant expressions such as (0 . 7) 3 (0 . 3) 5 , 0 . 15 3 . 75 , 3 17 , 7!, and the like. Turn in your exam at the front. Show your ID to the proctors. It is wise to skim all problems and point values first, to best plan your time.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
