Each year, I plant a fruit/vegetable garden in the spring.
I grow a variety of things, but
my BIG plantings are of tomatoes and peppers.
However, getting my seeds to sprout
is not as easy as you’d think….
A. This year, I seeded both peppers and tomatoes, using a total of 120 seeds.
Write
an equation to show this.
P=peppers T=tomatoes
P+T=120
B. I sowed nine times as many tomato seeds as pepper seeds.
Write an equation to
show this.
T=9P
C. How many tomato seeds did I plant?
T+T/9=120
10T/9=120
(9/10)10T/T=120(9/10)=
T=108
D. How many pepper seeds did I plant?
P+9P=120
10P=120
P=12
2.
I also planted bean seedlings and squash vines this year.
