MIDTERM EXAMINATION REVIEW OF CHAPTER 7POLITICALECONOMYANDETHICSFROMCHAPTER3 OFPROFESSORSWILDANDWILD’STEXTBOOKINTERNATIONALBUSINESS: THECHALLENGESOFGLOBALIZATION, 9THED(2019)PREPAREDFORTHESTUDENTSOFIBUS 330SPRINGSEMESTER2020PROFESSORNICHOLSONThis optional review is based on the learning objectives for the chapter. The relatedinteractive lectures in Mylab are superb to review along with this guide. There arevarious ways to integrate them into your review. Even if you do not plan to watch thesereview lectures, I recommend you try some if you haven’t done so already. Each of these optional reviews begin with the learning objectives which are alwayspresented at the beginning of each chapter. The learning objectives represent the halfdozen or so major topics the authors cover in the chapter. You cannot ask for a betterchapter review then one written by the authors themselves. In every chapter we cover thepattern is the same. The half dozen or so learning objectives are presented on the firstpage of the chapter. The major headings in the chapter follow that outline. At the end ofthe chapter the authors provide a one-page or so summary of those learning objectivescovered in the text. This is the pattern:First Page: The 5-6 Learning Objectives(generally a line or two in length)Chapter Sections: The learning objectives are presented in detail with examples, charts and figures to aid understanding. Here each learning objective is explainedin around 3-5 pages of text. This “chunk” of information is about what a studentcan read without losing attention in 45 minutes to an hour. Chapter Summary: At the end of each chapter the authors provide a shortparagraph or two of concise explanations of each learning objective. When students ask me what they should review for exams, I invariably recommend thelearning objectives at the beginning of the chapter and the chapter summaries at the end.The study guide you are now reading is complementary to that process. After finishingthis I would recommend going to the interactive lectures in Mylab. These can be avery helpful cap to exam preparation. As well, they can be used in conjunction with yourinitial reading of the chapter. Keep in mind that the review process assumes you havealready given the chapter a good full reading. It is not a substitute for reading thechapter. This study guide begins with the learning objectives for chapter seven.LEARNINGOBJECTIVES:3.1 Describe the key features of each form of political system.3.2 Explain how the three types of economic systemsdiffer.3.3 Summarize the main elements of each type of legal system.
