Currently overseas in our world today, the Israelis and Arabs are fights over a strip of land called Gaza. David Makovsky and Ghaith Al-Omari are two men very much involved in the subject who presented to our lecture hall about “How America Can Bring Arabs and Israelis Together Towards Peace and Coexistence”. Makowski was the first speaker who is director of the project on the Middle East peace process at Washington institute. Started off by stating in 2007 Humus took over Gaza which wasn’t good for the land. Fighting was intense during the conflict in the year 2007 but apparently is getting better. Palestinian got a new prime minister which might help the situation since he’s taking chances and building new institutions. The Palestinian government used to be not as organized but is now getting on track. The security was so bad two years ago that none of the guards were talking to each other but it’s progressed a lot today and they are trying the best to work together.
