Lab 4 Battery Capacity BRAE 216 Fall 2011 S F Kelly 1 CalPoly BRAE Date Performed 10/13/11 ______ Lab 4 Battery Capacity Experiment Objectives: Assemble and carry out experiment Download and examine data collected Receive an introduction to acquiring electronic data from experiment Equipment: AA battery (Duracell or Rite Aid brand) Circuit formed with plastic framing and wire Computer Protek Data Logging software DMM Multimeter Resistor Procedures and Methods 1. Create a hypothesis, which predicts the outcome of the experiment considering the variations in brands and prices. 2. Develop said experiment to test hypothesis. 3. In this case, the experiment consisted of a plastic housing with a AA battery setup, a voltage source and a 1.4 Ω resistor. 4. A dead battery was considered one that held 0.900 volts of charge. 5. Let circuit run until the battery reached a voltage of 0.900 volts. 6.
