E-COMMERCE & MOBILE COMMERCE 2 Mobile SEO On-demand economy has become a global concept present in our daily lives with the use of digital marketplaces and technology to serve the demands of consumers. Nevertheless, companies and businesses must adapt their sales and marketing strategies to fit the current technology trends in order to stay competitive. One of the most important and advantageous tools in doing so is by applying Mobile Search Engine Optimization, or Mobile SEO. This allows companies to suitably design the technical features of their mobile site so that it can be crawled and indexed by search engines (Turban, Pollard, & Wood, 2018, p. 174). The growing popularity of smartphones and tablets has resulted in it contributing to more than half the traffic of internet use. According to Turban, Pollard, and Wood (2018), Mobile SEO demands webmasters to contemplate how mobile devices are used differently from desktops and PCs, so that they could proportionately adjust the content to fit mobile sites (p. 174). The development of these mobile sites for e-commerce should contain information that will show up in a search engine results page, or SERP (Turban, Pollard, & Wood, 2018, p. 174).
