Unformatted text preview: EEL 6550 Midterm Examination Spring 2008 This is a take-home test that is due by the beginning of class on Wednesday, April 9th. You may use your book, notes, and the homework solutions in answering the questions on this test. You may also use any general-purpose MATLAB, PARI/gp, or any other computational tool, provided you do not use any encoders or decoders (for instance, the encoders or decoders provided in the MATLAB comm toolbox) programmed by someone other than yourself. You may not use specific- purpose tools, such as code available on the Internet for finding BCH-code generator polynomials. You may not discuss this exam with anyone else, search for solutions to any of the problems in books other than our textbook or on the web, or refer to solutions to previous exams to which you have access. It is important that you show your work . If I do not see how you got an answer, then I may not be able to give you credit. The work is much more important than the answer....
