January 23, 2012 KNH 120C C After completing the USDA activity, I learned a lot about what kinds of foods I am eating and what I am not eating that is affecting my overall health. I found that the only time I ever really intake milk is with my coffee or cheese on a sandwich. I have never been a huge milk fan, but from looking at the charts, it is obviously something that is important to a steady diet and I need to find ways to drink milk without coffee because I know coffee is not very good for me. In addition, I found that eating a turkey sandwich for lunch and eggbeaters in the morning is an adequate amount of daily meat intake. In contrast, I am only eating 1.6 cups of vegetables whereas the USDA recommends eating 3 cups. I should incorporate a salad into dinner or not just rely on veggies on my turkey sandwich for lunch. In that regard, I know that I am lacking today on my fruit intake. This is one of my biggest weaknesses being in college that I definitely do not eat enough
