WA7 2 Activity 11.2 For Activity 11.2, analyze each of the four definitions in four separate paragraphs. End each paragraph with your revision of the definition presented. a. A compass is for drawing circles. The compass is defined as an object that draws circles, but does not present any information of its appearance or the process of the compass creating the circle. A compass is a tool with two arms, one sharp and one with a pen that is used to draw circles. b. A fire lane is where you should not park. The fire lane is stated as an area that does not allow parking. This definition does not state why the fire lane doesn’t allow parking. A fire lane is a designated parking area near buildings used only by emergency personnel such as firefighters and nonemergency personnel are prohibited from parking in the fire lane. c. A crime is a violation of the law. This definition captures the basic essence of what a crime is, but remains vague concerning to what law is violated by the crime. A crime is a negative act committed towards a society that are violations to laws created by such society. d. Sterilization is the process of sterilizing.
