1 ORIE 3120: Industrial Data and Systems Analysis Spring 2011 Homework # 9 Due Date: 4/5/11 (Tuesday) 4:00 pm. Rhodes Hall Course Dropbox No Late Homework Accepted Since Solutions will be Posted for Exam Preparation 1. Cyclic Scheduling (10 points) Consider the two worker cell from the appendix to the cyclic scheduling lecture. The part flow is as follows: C-03, D-02, K-40, G-58, F-10, J-22, N-78. That is, a part only visits one machine in those groups that consist of two machines (the K-40’s, G-58’s, or F-10’s). Using CGANTT, I have created an operation routine chart for this cell (next page). The vertical time slices are 6 minutes apart. You should be able to read off start and stop times to the nearest minute from this. Operator 1 (in yellow) visits C-03, D-02, J-22, N-78, C-03, D-02, N-78, and then returns to C-03 and repeats the pattern. Every time the operator visits station C-03, he or she is inserting a new part into the cell. Every time he or she visits cell N-78, a part leaves the cell. The length of the cycle is 17*6=102 minutes. From this information you

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
