Samuel Castrejon Brandon Nguyen Period 2 10/30/10 DBQ ESSAY During the Middle Ages, Christian and Islamic states flourished and also had a lot of authority and influence in their respective states. In these religious states like Mecca and Constantinople, religion was held as one of the most important aspects of one’s life. The religion whether it was Christianity or Islam, had major influence on how an individual lived their life and it also influenced their view points of many aspects of their life. Trade, that occurred between the European and Asians betweens various trades like the silk road, was one of the aspects of life that was influenced by religion in an individuals life. Both religious faiths offer uniquely different and evolving perspectives of the idea of trade as a whole. It can be seen that early Christianity condemned trade opposed to early Islam that supported trade, this can been seen from documents 1, 2, and 3. However, these original view points of trade evolved overtime into new and different
